B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of New Orleans in Biological Sciences and Biochemistry. Winner of the 1996 Sugar Industry Technologists Crystal Award and first woman to win the SPRI 2008 Science and Technology Award.

Background in gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy, sensory analysis, collaborative testing, color analysis, polysaccharides and minor constituents in cane and beet sugar processing. Secretary-Treasurer of the United States National Committee on Sugar Analysis-USNC and on the Program Committee for the New Orleans Carbohydrate Symposium-NOCS. Approximately 273 publications on sugar related subjects.
